Junior A

Junior A represents the pinnacle of box lacrosse in Canada for players aged 17–21—much like the Western Hockey League (WHL). The RMJALL showcases five elite, highly competitive teams: the Calgary Mountaineers, Raiders Jr A Lacrosse, Edmonton Miners, Saskatchewan Swat, and the Winnipeg Blizzard.

Competing at this level takes exceptional skill, speed, and unwavering commitment. Players train 4–6 times a week and battle across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba in a fast-paced season running from April through August.

While cracking a Junior A roster early in a player’s junior years is rare, the development pathway is strong—many rising athletes get their first taste of high-level action as affiliate call-ups. Thanks to the league’s outstanding caliber of play, countless Junior A athletes have gone on to excel in professional and collegiate lacrosse.

Every February, teams draft the next wave of standout talent, building and protecting a list of up to 50 players. The season climaxes with the thrilling chase for the Minto Cup—Canada’s most prestigious Junior box lacrosse title. Year after year, the RMLL proves it belongs among the nation’s best: ready to compete, ready to win.
