RMLL Alberta Series Lacrosse (ASL)

The Alberta Series Lacrosse considers respect, integrity, and inclusiveness as core tenants set out by the game’s originators, the Haudenosaunee (known today primarily as the Iroquois), and as such we too consider respect, integrity, and inclusiveness to be core rights for all participants, and the responsibility of all participants on and off the floor.

As a league, we believe that every individual must be treated equally regardless of age, ancestry, colour, race, citizenship, ethnic origin, place of origin, language, creed, religion, athletic potential, disability, family status, marital status, gender identity, gender expression, sex, or sexual orientation.

Moreover, it is the explicit responsibility of every player, coach, manager, executive, trainer, and fan to maintain the highest standard of equality for all, both in and out of competition.

There are five Alberta Series Lacrosse (ASL) Franchises in Alberta, two in Calgary and three in Edmonton.  The players in ASL are very committed and the lacrosse at this level is very competitive. Many players from NLL lacrosse teams also play on one of the five ASL Franchises.

ASL Franchises draft Graduating Juniors, however, the fact that a player is drafted does not guarantee that he will immediately play for the ASL Franchise that holds the player’s playing rights.

Annually, ASL Franchises in Alberta play-off at season‘s end for the Provincial Championship. The winner earns the right to represent the Province in the President‘s Cup, the trophy awarded annually by the Canadian Lacrosse Association to the top Senior “B” box lacrosse team in the country.
