“The acceptance of the Winnipeg Blizzard into Junior A is one of the most impactful developments we’ve seen in Manitoba lacrosse,” said Serge Balcaen, Interim Executive Director of Manitoba Lacrosse. “This gives Manitoba athletes a true high-performance pathway without leaving the province and firmly places our program on the national stage.”
This advancement strengthens elite development within Manitoba, increases provincial representation at the national level, strengthens long-term high-performance programming, and helps athletes pursue NCAA, Sr A, and NLL opportunities.
Special recognition goes to Terry Williams and the entire Winnipeg Blizzard leadership whose commitment and vision made this milestone possible.
